How Would You Describe Your Wedding?

I read a report recently that when polled, most couples describe their weddings using the same two words. Even though most are trying to have a unique wedding, they still view their weddings in the same way. I'm wondering how my readers would describe their wedding in just one or two words. I have a poll below, but you can also leave a comment if your one or two words aren't listed. Do you match up with fellow readers? PS I won't spoil it for you - as it might influence your results - but if you're interested in that report, it's here.

(I Left My Heart in) Romantic San Francisco

San Francisco has always been a romantic city for me, with its charming architecture, beautiful views, and fantastic restaurants and hotels. I even included its Legion of Honor museum as one of my top romantic wedding locations around the world. I'm here in the city by the bay again, gathering intelligence about what's new and what's newly beautiful, and I'm more inspired by this city than ever. If you're considering a destination wedding, honeymoon, or even a bachelorette party in San Francisco, watch this space for more tips, ideas, and hot spots soon

Planning for An Outdoor Wedding: Making Guests Comfortable

One of the most memorable weddings I've attended is the one where I was miserable: it was memorable for all the wrong reasons! It was an outdoor wedding in New York in May - a time of year that is generally very pleasant. Unfortunately, that year there was a very early heatwave, and it was blazing hot. Rather than focusing my attention on the bride and groom, I spent the ceremony wishing for a bottle of water or a fan, and thinking about how my satin dress was sticking to me.

This year, the weather has been so up and down - 80 degrees one day and 40 the next. I'm guessing there are a lot of uncomfortable wedding guests out there either freezing or baking! So if you're planning an outdoor wedding, make sure you check out my Top 10 Tips for an Outdoor Wedding. Even if it should be the perfect temp with blue skies, you never know what could happen with this crazy weather!

Angelina and Brad Set a Wedding Date: The Biggest Wedding of the Year?

You've probably heard that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally got engaged. This time, it's not just another sensational tabloid headline, but their publicist confirmed it, and Angelina's been seen out and about with a massive $500,000 engagement ring. Now they've reportedly set a wedding date: ...

Make Em' Laugh: Funny Wedding Readings
Even though a wedding ceremony is a serious and romantic occasion, it's always nice to have a moment of humor in the mix to lighten things up. One of my favorite ways is with a funny wedding reading. First, have a serious reading about love and relationships, then surprise your guests with something that makes them laugh. Bonus: then they'll be awake for the most important part of the ceremony, your vows!

Pomp and Circumstance: The Wedding Processional

When a little girl dreams about her wedding, she pictures herself in a big fluffy white dress, marching down the aisle to her groom. So when you're planning your wedding, make sure you take some time to think about how your wedding processional should go.

What music will you use? In what order will the bridal party walk down the aisle? Will your father accompany you, or both of your parents, or will you do it solo-style? If there's ever a time for a little drama and pomp in a ceremony, this is it! So have fun with it!
